Unpaid Taxes - Meade County South Dakota
There will be a live feed on YouTube of the reading of unpaid Meade County, South Dakota taxes. This is required by South Dakota Law 10.23.28.1.
This will occur on the 3rd Monday of December - 12-15-2025 - at 9:00am MST.
Meade County is not selling certificates at this time.

Public Service Announcement: Avalanche Road Closure for Harvest Meadows Development
The following is an announcement for a road closure and detour along Avalanche Road in Sturgis:
Starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a portion of Avalanche Road will be closed and detoured thru the Harvest Meadows Subdivision, for the installation of utilities for the Harvest Meadows Subdivision. Attached is the Traffic Control Plan for the detour route which will divert traffic to Orchard Street and Harvest Hils Drive back to Avalanche Road.
All traffic control devices and road maintenance of the detour route will be maintained by Wilson Contracting for the duration of the project, which is expected to last approximately 30 days.

Sturgis SD – The Meade County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications from individuals who are interested in serving on Meade County Committee and Boards:
· Meade County Housing and Redevelopment Committee (5-year term)
· Sturgis Library Board (annual appointment)
· Weed & Pest Board (3-year term)
Individuals who want to be considered for an appointment are asked to fill out a Citizen Interest Application form and submit to the Meade County Board of Commissioners, 1300 Sherman Street, STE 222, Sturgis, SD 57785, or rcrane@meadecounty.org. The Citizen Interest Application is available at: https://www.meadecounty.org/citizen-interest-application
All applications must be received by 5:00 PM MST on Monday, December 15, 2025, for consideration on December 23, 2025, Meade County Commission Meeting. Interview with Commission may be required.
